Who do I talk to…?

We are proud of the ethos in our school and we are continually aiming to nurture and develop good relationships with families based on mutual trust and respect. However, if you have a concern about any aspect of your child’s education or there are personal issues that you would like to share in confidence with us, the following may help.

Class Teacher

If there has been an issue during the school day, the first person to talk to is your child’s teacher. They are always in the playground before and after school. If you have any concerns about your child’s progress or well being, they will be happy to make an appointment with you for a longer discussion.

Head teacher/deputy head

If the class teacher is not able to help you or you feel the issue has not been resolved, they will direct you to either the headteacher or the deputy head.
You can either phone and make an appointment or pop in to see if they are free. When making an appointment, you do not have to say what you would like to talk about if it is a sensitive matter.

School Support Leader

Laurel Douglas is our school support leader. She is based in the main office and can help you with any administration issues such as school trip arrangements, admissions, medical needs etc. She also works closely with Shelly and is able to signpost and support parents.

Parent Liaison Officer

Shelly Hussain is our parent liaison officer. She is based in the main office with Laurel and supports office administration. She is responsible for working with parents and organises a range of workshops and outings. She is also able to translate meetings for Bengali speakers. She is also able to help you with a range of administrative questions.

Governors

Please see the governors section of the website for more details on the roles of governors and how they support the relationship between school and home.

Home School Agreement

Our home school agreement clearly sets out the responsibilities of both parents/carers and school staff in relation to fulfilling the school vision for all our children. It is important that the values we hold are also the values held by parents and carers. When a child begins at our school, we meet with families to make sure we have a shared understanding of these values and what they mean in practice. Any aspects of the agreement can be further discussed with either me or the office team

Complaints

If you feel that a matter you have raised with the school has not been addressed satisfactorily, you may wish to follow our complaints procedure.
Please find this under school policies in the information section of the website.
